Training Programs

Why operator training matters

Training does not replace supervision or site induction, but it gives operators and crews a common understanding of the task, the equipment and the hazards.

• Safe operation: trained operators know the controls, the limits and the pre-use checks of the equipment they use.
• Site rules: a course introduces the hazards and rules that apply to the task and the site.
• Documented training: a course record helps employers show who has been trained. What counts as recognised is decided by your employer, your client and any relevant authority.
• Refreshers: experienced operators benefit from periodic refreshers, especially when they move to a new machine type or site.
